RiverWoods is about Community. On campus and off.
A group of RiverWoods residents and staff recently worked the phones and hit the airwaves at the 13th annual WZID Christmas is for Kids Radiothon in Manchester. The radiothon raised more than $140,000 dollars to support the programs of Child and Family Services of New Hampshire (CFS). The non-profit is one of the oldest in NH devoted specifically to the issues of child wellness and family strength.
As a Charitable non-profit retirement community, RiverWoods residents and staff gladly volunteer their time and talents in so many ways. We are so pleased to maintain
our relationship with such a vital organization like CFS.
The recent radiothon comes on the heels of the Manchester City Marathon, an event where RiverWoods runners were able to raise more than $2,500 for CFS.
Since our founding in 1994, residents at RiverWoods Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) have held an annual fundraiser for another local non-profit.We're excited to say that the ongoing partnership between CFS and RiverWoods will culminate in a major fundraising auction and gala this fall.
In 2010, the RiverWoods community raised more than $70,000 for CFS at a similar auction and gala evening. Residents and staff donated hundreds of hours of time to prepare for the event and we all hope the 2012 fundraiser will be an even bigger benefit for local families in need.
